he is the hero of this narrative and the hero of my life.
it is my good privilege and responsibility to share sully’s story.
at the simplest level, sullivan’s tale is one of incredible courage and bravery.
what is more, however, is an intrinsic review of the individual threads of gratitude, kindness, inner strength, blessings and the incredible power of the human/animal condition that, when woven together, form a beautiful figurative tapestry of great meaning; one that adds a warm pulse to sullivan’s story. hopefully my words will encourage those in similar situations, give hope to those who have been told all hope is lost and serve as an inspirational reminder that glimpses of unbridled heroism are ever-present in this world, even in the spirit of a three-legged yellow dog.
